Network & Infrastructure that is documented before it is a problem.

Firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi rarely get attention until something fails. ZARS monitors and manages them, documents how they are set up and plans replacements before support ends.

01Health check

What a well-run small-business network looks like

Each component, what good looks like, and the warning signs we look for in an assessment.
ComponentWhat good looks likeWarning signs
FirewallSupported model, current firmware, documented rules, managed remotely.Expired support, unknown admin passwords, rules nobody can explain.
SwitchingLabelled, documented, sized for current devices.Unmanaged consumer switches and undocumented daisy chains.
Wi-FiSeparate staff and guest networks, coverage where people work. One shared password everyone has known for years.
Internet & WANKnown circuits, provider contacts and a plan for outages. No one knows which provider to call, or the account number.
DocumentationDiagram, inventory, credentials stored securely, change history. The only diagram is in a former employee’s head.
LifecycleReplacement dates known and budgeted.Equipment replaced only after it fails.

Remote-first, with onsite work when it is needed

Monitoring, configuration changes and most troubleshooting happen remotely, which keeps response practical and costs predictable. When work is physical, such as installing equipment, moving offices or cabling, it is coordinated with field resources and scoped on its own.

04Questions

Network questions

Can network work be done remotely?

Monitoring, configuration and most troubleshooting are done remotely. Physical work such as installing equipment or cabling needs someone onsite; ZARS coordinates that and scopes it separately.

Is network management part of Managed IT?

Monitoring and management of covered firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi is part of ZARS Managed IT. Infrastructure projects such as redesigns, equipment refreshes and cabling are scoped as separate projects.

Do you know when your firewall’s support ends?

The IT Assessment inventories your network equipment and flags anything unsupported, undocumented or due for replacement.
