Questions about the service model

What is the difference between Managed IT and IT Consulting?

Managed IT is a recurring relationship in which ZARS operates and supports your technology day to day. IT Consulting is a defined project with its own scope, such as a migration, an assessment or a technology selection. You can engage either one without the other.

What is the difference between a vCIO and Managed IT?

Managed IT keeps current systems running and secure. A vCIO works with leadership on direction: what to fund, what to replace, which risks to address and how technology supports business goals. vCIO can be included in a higher-tier Managed IT relationship or engaged on its own.

Can we keep our current IT provider or internal IT team?

Yes. vCIO Services, IT Consulting and AI Advisory are designed to work alongside an internal IT team or another provider. ZARS can also support co-managed arrangements.

Is everything included in a Managed IT agreement?

No. Core support, management and security are part of the relationship, while items such as major migrations, infrastructure projects, advanced compliance work, cabling and onsite field services are scoped and priced separately. The scope is written down before work begins.
